Senior Backend Engineer (TypeScript / Python / Kubernetes)

About the role

Greenstep is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, cloud-native backend services for its financial-management platform. You will work on a Kubernetes-based environment, developing services in TypeScript (Node.js) and Python, and ensuring they meet the high-availability needs of accounting, payroll and ERP workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful and event-driven APIs using TypeScript (Node.js) and Python.
• Build highly available, fault-tolerant services on Kubernetes, containerising applications with Docker and managing deployments with Helm.
• Integrate secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, RBAC).
• Write unit, integration and end-to-end tests and participate in code reviews.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing and deployments.
• Debug production incidents, improve performance, reliability and observability of distributed services.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps and product teams throughout the full development lifecycle.

Required profile

• At least five years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in distributed systems.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
