Senior Clinical Data Scientist

About the role

The Senior Clinical Data Scientist provides data management leadership across assigned clinical trials, acting as the Trial Data Manager when required. The role demands a strong business understanding of the compound profile to ensure effective application of data management processes and to support protocol development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data management activities for study start‑up, including Data Handling Plans, Data Review Plans and user acceptance testing.
• Manage local laboratory set‑up for clinical databases and oversee process and training deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and maintain quality standards across all documentation.
• Coordinate audits, inspections, exception requests, deviations and corrective/preventive action plans.
• Perform ongoing review of all clinical study data, including third‑party and local lab data, and reconcile serious adverse events where applicable.
• Generate study status reports for clinical trial team meetings and support junior staff.
• Lead synonym review and dictionary version upgrade activities at trial or program level.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in drug development, with at least 3 years in clinical data management.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, lead teams effectively and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in a global environment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to interrogate data using various programming or GUI techniques.
