Senior Data Engineer

About the role

FSM is building the next generation of AI‑powered financial systems. As a Senior Data Engineer you will design, build and operate the core data and cloud platform while serving as the primary technical liaison for client finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain AWS infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, RDS, Cognito, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch).
• Own infrastructure‑as‑code using CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Maintain security and compliance posture, including least‑privilege IAM, SOC 2 and Vanta controls.
• Develop and extend the S3‑based data platform and DBT pipelines feeding AI agents and BI tools.
• Integrate accounting, ERP, CRM and operational apps (QuickBooks, HubSpot, Stripe, Plaid, Box, Slack) into a unified data layer.
• Design, code and test intelligent agents that act on financial data, ensuring auditability and alignment with accounting principles.
• Lead discovery sessions with client finance teams, translate requirements into technical solutions, and guide clients through agent behavior.

Required profile

• Proven experience building data platforms and cloud infrastructure in a senior engineering role.
• Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in regulated financial environments and maintaining compliance standards.
