Senior Director, AI, Digital and Data

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a senior leader to shape and drive its global AI, Digital and Data strategy. Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, the Senior Director will act as the movement’s trusted advisor on emerging technologies, ensuring that AI and digital solutions translate into tangible impact for children worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the AI, Digital and Data capability across the organisation, setting vision, priorities and implementation road‑maps.
• Steer the global AI portfolio, accelerating existing scaled products and championing new AI applications that improve operational efficiency and programme outcomes.
• Embed AI, digital programming and ICT4D initiatives throughout the movement, coordinating with members, SCI units and external partners.
• Communicate the strategic vision internally and externally, influencing senior leaders and representing the organisation at relevant forums.
• Oversee a budget of approximately $2 million and manage a team of around 15 professionals across multiple functions.
• Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and monitor progress against pace, quality and benefit targets.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading AI, digital transformation or data strategy initiatives at a global scale.
• Strong track record of managing multi‑disciplinary teams and sizable budgets.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and external partners.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10% of the time.
• Legal right to work in the country of assignment.
