Senior Engineering Manager

About the role

PxD is seeking a technically strong engineering leader to own the delivery and development of its technology platforms. This hands‑on senior manager will guide architecture, drive the engineering roadmap, and mentor a distributed team serving millions of smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Define system architecture, design decisions and technology choices for the Paddy platform and PaddyAI.
• Consolidate existing systems, plan for scale across new geographies, and manage technical trade‑offs.
• Stay hands‑on to review designs, guide implementation and resolve critical issues.
• Improve standards for testing, security, deployment, monitoring and documentation.
• Lead a distributed team of six engineers across India and Kenya, set priorities, coach members and conduct performance reviews.
• Translate organisational priorities into clear technical plans and communicate risks in plain language.
• Continuously enhance engineering processes, tools and DevOps practices.

Required profile

• ~10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in an engineering manager role.
• Proven ability to manage and develop distributed engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and experience partnering with program and research functions.
