AI Engineer / Developer (Part‑time, Nairobi)

About the role

We're looking for an experienced AI engineer based in Nairobi who can take a project from idea to production without hand‑holding. The position is part‑time and involves working directly with the founders of her/ai, a company helping women‑led businesses apply AI responsibly. You will collaborate closely with the founders to shape AI‑driven products that keep agency, creativity and people at the centre.

Required profile

• Based in Nairobi with a proven track record shipping software to production.
• Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript.
• Hands‑on experience deploying applications on AWS, GCP or Azure, including databases and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building solutions with LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic and understanding their limitations.
• Solid grasp of web security, including authentication, access control and data protection.
• Curious, independent and decisive; IABAC accreditation is a plus.
