Senior Frontend Engineer (React / Next.js)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to design and deliver high‑performance, accessible web applications for enterprise cloud platforms across Africa. You will work with modern React and Next.js stacks, ensuring optimal Core Web Vitals and a seamless user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable client‑side web architectures using React, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate reliable APIs, micro‑services and payment gateways.
• Develop and maintain cross‑platform mobile applications with Flutter, handling complex state and native device integrations.
• Create responsive UI designs, wireframes and component libraries in Figma, validated through user testing.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS/GCP, orchestrate containers with Docker and Kubernetes, and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability testing and apply best practices in application security.

Required profile

• 4+ years of production experience with React and Next.js.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and performance optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience with Node.js or Python backend services.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver Flutter mobile applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and container orchestration.
• Security certifications (CEH, CISA or CISSP) are a plus.
