Senior Frontend Engineer (React/Next.js)

About the role

The Senior Frontend Engineer will lead the design, development and delivery of highly scalable, customer‑centric user interfaces for HFCB Group’s digital platforms. Based in Nairobi, the role combines deep frontend expertise with the ability to support full‑stack prototyping when required.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain reusable UI components using React and Next.js.
• Implement efficient data‑fetching strategies with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Champion DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to ensure secure, frequent releases.
• Drive Agile delivery across squads, providing technical direction and architectural guidance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a high‑performance, outcome‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in banking, fintech or digital financial services.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
• Strong understanding of human‑centered design and commercial impact.
