Senior Manager, Business Development Training

About the role

Arnold & Porter is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the design and execution of a firm‑wide business development (BD) training program. This newly created position will shape a multi‑tiered curriculum that supports attorneys at every stage of their careers, aligning learning with the firm’s client strategy and growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a comprehensive, multi‑level BD curriculum with tailored learning tracks for associates and partners.
• Partner with Business Development Directors and practice groups to create practice‑specific content and case‑study repositories.
• Own the annual BD training calendar, handling scheduling, logistics, and delivery across virtual and in‑person formats.
• Facilitate select training sessions and coordinate programs delivered by internal and external facilitators.
• Define success metrics, track participation and outcomes, and provide regular reporting to firm leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering business development or professional development programs.
• Strong collaboration skills with senior leaders, including BD, talent, and diversity teams.
• Analytical mindset to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
