Senior Manager, Data Management

About the role

The Rainforest Alliance is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its enterprise data management function. You will shape data governance, master data, and metadata strategies that support our mission of conserving biodiversity and improving livelihoods.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an enterprise data management strategy aligned with organisational goals.
• Maintain and prioritise the data management roadmap, making trade‑off decisions and presenting updates to senior stakeholders on a quarterly basis.
• Identify regulatory, technical and resource risks related to data and develop mitigation plans.
• Lead change‑management initiatives, including workshops, training sessions and communication plans to raise data literacy across the organization.
• Oversee multiple cross‑functional projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data management or data governance, with at least 2‑3 years in a formal people‑management role.
• Proven track record of building or scaling a data governance program from the ground up.
• Hands‑on experience with master data management (MDM) and metadata management at an enterprise level.
• Working knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA.
• Strong stakeholder‑management and change‑management capabilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, both nationally and internationally.
