Senior Manager, Private Banking

About the role

The Senior Manager, Private Banking will lead the growth and profitability of the bank’s high‑net‑worth client portfolio in Kenya. Reporting to senior leadership, the role focuses on acquiring and retaining HNW and UHNW clients while delivering integrated wealth solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Grow assets under management (AUM), liabilities, investments, revenue and overall portfolio profitability to meet targets.
• Acquire and retain high‑net‑worth (HNW) and ultra‑high‑net‑worth (UHNW) clients, increasing share of wallet.
• Develop and implement holistic wealth management and lifestyle solutions tailored to clients’ personal, family and business objectives.
• Provide investment advisory across local and international opportunities to support wealth creation and preservation.
• Advise clients on succession, estate planning, wealth structuring and long‑term preservation strategies.
• Conduct regular portfolio reviews and deliver proactive, insight‑driven recommendations.
• Coordinate specialist expertise across investment, insurance, tax and other advisory services.
• Generate new business through strategic networking, referral partnerships and collaboration with corporate and commercial banking teams.
• Ensure exceptional client service by managing end‑to‑end execution and maintaining premium service standards.
• Manage daily client relationships, conduct visits, handle enquiries and provide tailored banking and wealth solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field (required).
• Professional qualifications such as CISI, CFA, CFP or Investment Advisory Certification (required).
• Master’s degree (added advantage).
• Minimum 8 years total experience, including at least 5 years in a management role within banking (required).
• At least 4 years experience in private banking or wealth management (required).
• Experience in product development and management (4 years required).
• Experience in banking sales and customer service (3 years required).
• Project management experience (2 years added advantage).
