Senior Operations Coordinator – Nairobi

About the role

The Senior Operations Coordinator supports Mercy Corps Kenya by ensuring that all administrative, logistics, ICT, procurement and security functions run smoothly. Reporting to the Country Director, the role bridges program teams with operations to deliver timely and compliant services to beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Support program planning and anticipate operational and logistical resource needs.
• Coordinate facilities, office administration, IT, asset management, fleet, warehousing and procurement.
• Ensure compliance with Mercy Corps policies, donor regulations and Kenyan law.
• Facilitate training, coordination meetings and procurement planning across departments.
• Partner with finance and compliance to mitigate fraud, conflicts of interest and legal risks.
• Develop operational budgets and contribute to proposal development.
• Represent operations in external forums such as logistics clusters and security platforms.
• Manage logistics tenders, vendor performance and supply‑chain bottlenecks.
• Oversee fleet requirements, insurance, acquisition and disposal.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operations, logistics or supply‑chain coordination within an NGO or humanitarian setting.
• Strong understanding of procurement, asset and fleet management processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program, finance and compliance teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
