Senior Procurement Officer

About the role

The Senior Procurement Officer will lead procurement operations, ensuring timely, cost‑effective sourcing of goods and services to support business activities. This role requires strong expertise in procurement planning, supplier management, SKU handling and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement plans based on demand forecasts, inventory levels and operational priorities.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities including sourcing, supplier evaluation, quotation analysis, negotiation, purchase order processing and order follow‑up.
• Oversee high‑volume SKU procurement, ensuring accurate ordering, availability and timely replenishment.
• Coordinate with inventory, warehouse and production teams to minimise stockouts and excess inventory.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times and contractual conditions to achieve cost savings.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery or quality issues and maintain an updated supplier database.
• Analyse SKU movement, consumption patterns and demand trends to support procurement planning.
• Prepare spend analysis reports, track procurement expenditure against budgets and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Supervise and mentor the procurement team, allocate tasks, monitor performance and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in a high‑volume environment.
• Proven experience supervising procurement staff and handling a large, diverse SKU portfolio.
• Demonstrated ability in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, purchase order management and cost control.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, retail or distribution sectors is an advantage.
• Professional procurement qualification or membership with a recognized body is a plus.
