Senior Product Manager - Digital Banking

About the role

Absa Bank Kenya is looking for a Senior Product Manager for Digital Banking, reporting to the Head of Digital Banking. The role drives the development, management and enhancement of the bank's digital products, shapes the digital product portfolio, manages the product roadmap and delivers value to customers while achieving business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Product strategy (50%): develop product visions and strategies for fintech consumer products and platform models, define an innovation strategy covering core, adjacent and disruptive innovations, and manage products through their full lifecycle.
• Define KPIs for each product, review strategies against competition, performance and trends, vet strategic partnerships and own the product roadmap within budget and commercial targets.
• Product management (30%): design the product management architecture, define best-practice processes (vision, strategy, roadmap), link commercial and technology teams to GTM strategies and govern practices in line with Group policies.
• People management (20%): build and grow product teams, hire, coach and enable product managers, designers and other collaborators across tech, vendors, partners, commercial, finance, legal compliance and marketing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce or Management Studies (required).
• At least 8 years of work experience, including 3 in a similar capacity with a proven track record.
• 5 years of product management experience, including product roadmaps from conception to launch and go-to-market strategy.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Product Management, Engineering, UX/UI and mobile banking platforms.
• In-depth understanding of Fintech and of competitor and local market activity.
• Ability to anticipate business and regulatory challenges and lead improvements.
