Senior Projects Accountant / Construction Accountant

About the role

The Senior Projects Accountant / Construction Accountant will manage the financial side of construction projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, budgeting, and compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and finance teams to provide insights that support project execution and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
• Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with IFRS and tax regulations.
• Monitor project expenditures, reconcile accounts, and support audits.
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, and suppliers on financial matters.
• Produce dashboards, variance analyses, and project summaries for management.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA(K), ACCA or CFA certification.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within construction.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• ERP/accounting software such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Audit support and internal control implementation.
