Senior QA Automation Lead (TypeScript, Playwright)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Lead to join a global application‑security technology company. This senior position combines hands‑on automation work with people leadership, supporting a remote team of Junior QA Automation Engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of Junior QA Automation Engineers.
• Drive shift‑left QA practices by encouraging earlier testing and stronger collaboration with developers.
• Design, build and maintain end‑to‑end automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript.
• Improve automation quality, maintainability, reliability and scalability across the QA process.
• Work closely with engineering managers and technical leads to align QA priorities, risks and progress.
• Identify gaps in QA processes and recommend practical improvements.
• Balance hands‑on technical QA work with people‑leadership responsibilities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on automation QA experience, especially with Playwright and TypeScript.
• Experience performing integration testing across complex product workflows, APIs or connected systems.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing engineers or QA team members.
• Strong understanding of automation best practices, test design, debugging and maintainable test architecture.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong ownership mindset.
• Ability to work across multiple engineering teams in a fast‑paced environment.
