Senior Technical Officer - Communications & Knowledge Management

About the role

LVCT Health is seeking a Senior Technical Officer to lead the delivery of the MindSKILLZ programme in Mombasa. The role focuses on equipping adolescents with social‑emotional skills, strengthening resilience, and ensuring timely referral for additional mental‑health support.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with LVCT Health staff, schools and community groups to recruit eligible adolescents.
• Complete the MindSKILLZ Training of Coaches, covering adolescent mental health, facilitation, safeguarding, M&E and referral pathways.
• Deliver the full MindSKILLZ curriculum using play‑based, strengths‑based, youth‑centered approaches.
• Prepare session materials, co‑facilitate with a coaching partner, and continuously improve delivery.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment and respond to signs of emotional distress according to safeguarding procedures.
• Identify participants needing extra support and facilitate referrals to appropriate services.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment records and monitoring data; submit timely reports.
• Participate in supervision, provide implementation updates and manage programme resources.

Required profile

• Completed MindSKILLZ Training of Coaches or equivalent experience in adolescent mental‑health programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to work with schools, youth groups and community structures.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, referral protocols and monitoring & evaluation processes.
• Professional conduct aligned with LVCT Health values and confidentiality standards.
