Senior Technical Project Manager – GIS (Multi-Sector)

About the role

Join the Data Solutions team to lead geospatial projects that influence infrastructure investment across energy, climate, health and more in over 40 countries. You will own the client relationship from workshops with ministries to technical discussions with data scientists.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geospatial client projects from scope to delivery, ensuring they are on time, within scope and on budget.
• Act as the primary contact for governments, donors and development partners, conducting workshops and occasional travel to project countries.
• Translate partner needs into workplans and technical requirements, steering data scientists through data collection, validation and quality assurance.
• Ensure deliverables meet client requirements, are usable by end‑users, and report progress with high‑quality reports and presentations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Geospatial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• 5+ years delivering technical projects for governments and donors (World Bank, EU, AfDB, UN, bilateral donors).
• Proven experience leading multi‑partner projects, preferably from a consulting background.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, able to build new processes and handle competing priorities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on GIS using QGIS or ArcGIS.
• Working knowledge of Python, R or SQL.
• Experience with cloud workflows such as GCP and BigQuery.
