Service Engineer

About the role

Our client, a world leader in HVAC manufacturing and sales, is seeking a Service Engineer to oversee maintenance programmes, troubleshoot equipment and deliver comprehensive service to customers across the African region.

Key responsibilities

• Support aftermarket business development across African territories.
• Attend to customer and dealer complaints, perform fault finding and rectification.
• Maintain and repair chillers, packaged units, ducted split and other HVAC systems.
• Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Select appropriate replacement parts and raise requisitions for spares and consumables.
• Update customer database, service reports and equipment history.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting and emergency response, including after‑hours situations.
• Conduct product service training for distributor technicians and advise customers on repairs and preventive maintenance.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Refrigeration and Air‑Conditioning.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience in HVAC service, troubleshooting and customer relationship management.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
