Shift Supervisor

About the role

The Shift Supervisor position at Orbital Kitchens is a hands‑on leadership role in a fast‑paced kitchen environment. You will oversee line cooks, ensure food quality, and maintain safety standards while working alongside a dynamic team. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is essential to communicate effectively across the floor.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise line cooks to guarantee timely completion of tasks and adherence to quality standards.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and meet established quality criteria.
• Maintain sanitation requirements, including temperature control, proper storage, product rotation, and safe food handling.
• Control waste, manage portion sizes, and optimize food costs.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock is maintained.
• Perform daily side work with attention to detail.
• Work flexibly across various stations such as fry, plancha, and expediter.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of kitchen experience.
• At least 1 + year in a lead or supervisory role.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Possession of a NYC Food Handlers Permit.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑moving environment.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
