Shipping and Maritime Affairs Officer (Entry Level)

About the role

This is an entry‑level, training grade for Shipping & Maritime Affairs Officers II within the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs. The officer will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer, contributing to data collection, reporting and stakeholder sensitisation on maritime safety and environmental protection.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and collate data on shipping and maritime affairs.
• Draft briefs and reports on shipping and maritime matters.
• Prepare preliminary working documents to sensitise stakeholders on safety, security and marine‑environment prevention.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime and Shipping Management, Maritime Management, Coastal and Marine Management, Port Management, Economics, Logistics or Fleet Management from a university recognised in Kenya.
• Entry‑level candidate willing to work under supervision in a training capacity.

What we offer

• Basic salary scale Ksh 38,210 – 49,910 per month (CSG 11).
• House allowance Ksh 5,800 – 10,000 per month.
• Commuter allowance Ksh 4,000 per month.
• Leave allowance and medical cover as provided by the Civil Service.
• Permanent, pensionable contract.
