Site Engineer – Concrete & Structural Works

About the role

Brookhill Projects Limited is seeking a Site Engineer to manage concrete and structural activities on a building contract in Nairobi. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work closely with the Site Agent, QA/QC Manager and Site Surveyor to ensure quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise concrete production, including slump tests and cube sampling.
• Inspect formwork, reinforcement, cover and cast‑in items before each pour and complete the pour card.
• Maintain the cube register with the QA/QC Manager and follow up any failed results.
• Set out and verify subcontractor work in coordination with the Site Surveyor.
• Review structural drawings, raise design queries early, and present work for inspection at hold points.
• Record daily progress and quantities for monthly valuation.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail – you will stop a pour if reinforcement is incorrect, even with a truck waiting.
• Accurate record‑keeping so that any cube result can be traced back to its element.
• At least four years of site‑based experience supervising concrete work on building projects.
• Registered or registrable with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).

Required skills

• Competent use of AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to set out using a total station and level.
• Hands‑on experience with pour cards, cube testing regimes, and formwork/reinforcement checks.
