Site Surveyor – Fixed-Term (12 months)

About the role

Brookhill Projects Limited is seeking a Site Surveyor for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract on a building project in Nairobi. The role involves full‑time on‑site presence, setting out, level control and dimensional verification, including surveying holding‑down bolts for the structural steel subcontractor. You will report to the Site Agent and work closely with the Site Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain site control using benchmarks, grid lines and reference points.
• Set out foundations, columns, walls, openings and levels for each trade.
• Survey holding‑down bolts before steel erection and communicate results to the steelwork subcontractor.
• Carry out dimensional checks as construction progresses and record findings.
• Take levels for earthworks and slabs and support measurement for valuations.
• Maintain survey instruments and keep calibration records up to date.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics or a related field; survey technician level or above.
• At least two years of experience setting out building works.
• Precise, self‑checking and able to address discrepancies with foremen promptly.

Required skills

• Hands‑on competence with a total station and an automatic level, including data processing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for producing survey drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings.
