Software Developer

About the role

Optiven Group is hiring one Software Developer for its ICT Software department, based at the global headquarters in Karen. The post reports to the ICT Systems & Cybersecurity Manager and covers designing, developing and maintaining software systems, including code reviews and resolving technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable software solutions, gathering requirements and documenting business reviews
• Implement security measures such as encryption, access controls and secure coding, and carry out unit and user testing
• Maintain existing systems, fix bugs, update components and optimise database performance
• Review code for quality, efficiency and maintainability, and mentor junior developers
• Support users, collaborate with stakeholders and take part in innovation activities such as feasibility studies and prototyping
• Document architecture, design decisions and user guides, and share knowledge across the team

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of software development experience, with a focus on full-stack development
• Good interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills

Required skills

• Full-stack development expertise
• Advanced training in JavaScript, Node.js, React and database management
• Strong knowledge of version control and DevOps knowledge
