Software Developer (Part-Time, Virtual)

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a part-time Software Developer for a fully virtual position. The role covers designing, developing and maintaining software applications, testing and quality assurance, system maintenance, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications based on business and user requirements, writing clean, documented and performant code.
• Take part in the full software development lifecycle, from planning and development through testing, deployment and support.
• Carry out unit testing, debugging and troubleshooting, fix bugs and performance issues, and review code.
• Maintain and upgrade existing applications, monitor system performance and provide technical support.
• Work with stakeholders to turn business needs into technical specifications and collaborate with designers and project teams.
• Design and manage databases where needed, build and maintain APIs and system integrations, and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to architecture, tools and processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in software development, with proven experience building and maintaining applications.
• Experience developing secure, scalable and user-friendly applications.

Required skills

• Programming languages, databases, web technologies and software development frameworks.
• Version control systems such as Git (an added advantage).
