SOIL Program Mentor – Marsabit County

About the role

The Boma Project is seeking experienced mentors to implement the SOIL program in Marsabit County, Kenya. This full‑time, field‑based position involves providing monthly coaching, mentorship, training and market linkages to vulnerable households, with the aim of improving nutrition, livelihoods and child well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver monthly coaching, mentorship and facilitation to program participants.
• Mobilise, target and enrol households, and form or strengthen VSLA groups.
• Provide business coaching, monitor progress of interventions and collect data.
• Facilitate training sessions and link participants to markets and financial services.
• Coordinate with local government structures and other community stakeholders.
• Report regularly to the Field Officer on activities and outcomes.

Required profile

• Member of the local community/villages where the project is implemented.
• Strong understanding of community culture, language and geography.
• Experience in community‑based mentorship or extension work.
• Ability to work independently in remote field settings.

Required skills

• Data collection and basic monitoring techniques.
