Solar PV Instructor

About the role

Siemens is seeking a Solar PV Instructor to deliver hands‑on, instructor‑led training on commissioning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar inverter systems. The role is based in San Antonio, TX, and primarily operates within the Power Academy lab environment, with occasional on‑site customer sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical training on commissioning, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and firmware updates for central and string solar inverters.
• Teach structured commissioning workflows, including installation verification, startup validation, and common issues.
• Instruct on O&M best practices for central inverters, covering operating modes, inspections, preventive maintenance, and safety.
• Guide participants through firmware update planning, execution, validation, documentation, and rollback strategies.
• Develop and maintain courseware such as presentations, lab exercises, troubleshooting scenarios, job aids, and assessments.
• Own and maintain training lab environments to ensure realistic, repeatable hands‑on learning.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, service, and sales teams to keep training aligned with product updates and field trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.
• Mid‑level professional experience with solar PV field work or related technical training.
