Fiddling Instructor – Area 2 Schools

About the role

The Frontier School Division is seeking a dedicated Fiddling Instructor to join its Division-wide Fiddling Program. This full‑time, permanent position will support Area 2 schools across Grand Rapids, Gypsumville, Dauphin River, Skownan and Waterhen, delivering high‑quality fiddling instruction to students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging fiddling lessons to students in 31 schools within Area 2.
• Collaborate with an eleven‑person instructional team to expand and enhance the program.
• Travel between schools as needed, ensuring consistent program delivery.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a positive learning environment.
• Participate in professional development and approved courses.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility).
• Valid Manitoba driver’s licence and ability to travel flexible hours.
• Prior experience teaching fiddling; guitar ability is a plus.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Knowledge of Indigenous ways of life and experience in northern communities are assets.
