Sonographer – Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Sonographer to join our imaging department in Nairobi. The successful candidate will perform high‑quality ultrasound and X‑ray examinations while delivering compassionate, patient‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound and X‑ray examinations accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct advanced procedures such as elastography, 3D/4D obstetric scans, and other specialised imaging.
• Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and provide supportive guidance.
• Maintain confidential and timely documentation of imaging procedures and patient records.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate and report any faults in ultrasound equipment.
• Uphold infection control, hygiene and radiation safety standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and adopt emerging imaging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging, Radiography or Sonography from a recognised institution.
• Registered with the relevant regulatory body and holding a valid practising licence.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in sonography or diagnostic imaging.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, professionalism and commitment to high‑quality diagnostic services.
