Sonographer – Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

About the role

Penda Health is seeking a qualified Sonographer to deliver high‑quality ultrasound imaging services across its Westlands facilities. The role involves preparing patients, operating equipment, and ensuring accurate, timely results in line with clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide imaging services to patients following established practice parameters and standards of care.
• Process, verify, and maintain patient information accurately.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, ensuring correct identification and readiness.
• Produce timely and accurate results according to UltraSound SOPs.
• Review test results for accuracy and consistency, correlating with patient conditions when needed.
• Maintain records, filing systems, and equipment logs to comply with regulations.
• Order and manage department supplies, implementing stock control procedures.
• Conduct weekly and routine maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
• Adhere to safety and infection‑control policies at all times.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Branch manager and be flexible to scan in various Penda Medical Centers.

Required profile

• Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography or Medical Imaging Sciences.
• Valid license to practice from the relevant regulatory body, if applicable.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and professional standards.
• Proficient computer use skills.
