Sourcing Unit Planner – Production & Inventory Optimization

About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical Sourcing Unit Planner to join our Nairobi factory operations. Reporting to the Head of Factory – Kenya, you will bridge demand, supply, manufacturing and procurement to ensure reliable product delivery and optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Convert demand forecasts into detailed production plans that guarantee product availability and high customer service.
• Optimize factory capacity, production schedules and resource utilization to boost operational performance.
• Maintain material availability while controlling inventory levels and supporting working‑capital goals.
• Drive planning excellence through Integrated Business Planning (IBP), data‑driven decisions and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement and Demand Planning teams to manage risks and ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor and improve metrics such as forecast accuracy, plan attainment, schedule adherence, capacity utilization and inventory performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Management or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in production, supply or manufacturing planning, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing, consumer goods, pharmaceutical or industrial environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Detailed Production Scheduling (DPS).

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP or a comparable Advanced Planning System.
• Practical knowledge of Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
• Experience using Master Production Scheduling (MPS) tools.
• Experience using Detailed Production Scheduling (DPS) tools.
