Storekeeper – Warehouse Operations

About the role

The Storekeeper oversees warehouse operations on the construction site, ensuring effective inventory control, transparency, and loss prevention while managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving materials: receive deliveries, check purchase orders and delivery notes, verify quantity and basic quality, report shortages or damages, record in Excel or logbook, and store items in designated areas.
• Issuing materials: issue items only with an approved Material Requisition, prepare requested items, ensure correct quantities, record all issuances, and obtain a signature from the receiver.
• Stock control: maintain accurate stock records, update daily, monitor levels to avoid shortages, and keep storage areas clean and organised.
• Reordering support: monitor fast‑moving and critical materials, inform the supervisor when stock is low, and assist in preparing purchase requests.
• Safety and security: ensure safe storage, prevent damage, loss or theft, control access to storage areas, and follow site safety rules.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in stores or inventory management, preferably in construction.
• Knowledge of inventory systems and ERP software is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of stock control principles and warehousing practices.
