Storytelling & Editorial Associate

About the role

The Storytelling & Editorial Associate creates clear, compelling written content that advances Inkomoko’s campaigns, thought leadership and external visibility. Reporting to the Campaigns & Thought Leadership Manager, the role spans writing, editing, coordination and content sourcing across teams and countries.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and edit press releases, newsletters, website pages, campaign materials and annual report content, applying the Message House framework.
• Copy‑edit website content and support updates in partnership with digital and brand teams.
• Gather editorial inputs from multiple teams, manage timelines and coordinate reviews for major publications.
• Source and package impact stories from internal channels, providing prompts, interview guides and consent templates.
• Maintain editorial calendars and trackers for communications, newsletters and reports, ensuring consistent voice and tone.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in content creation, writing and editing within communications, campaigns, journalism or a mission‑driven organization.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading abilities with the capacity to adapt tone for diverse audiences and platforms.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑channel content such as newsletters, websites and campaign materials while meeting tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and experience collaborating across campaigns, digital media, brand, development and country teams.
• Interest in storytelling, social impact, entrepreneurship and economic inclusion, with familiarity of East African contexts preferred.
