Structural Field Engineer

About the role

Tatu City is looking for a technically proficient Structural Field Engineer to join the Jabali Towers high‑rise project. The role is hands‑on and site‑based, ensuring that all structural works are executed to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on‑site technical expert for deep foundations, reinforced concrete, post‑tensioning systems, and structural steel erection.
• Conduct daily inspections of rebar placement, formwork, concrete pouring, and post‑tensioning stressing, documenting compliance and non‑conformances.
• Implement and enforce the project QA/QC programme, reviewing shop drawings, material certificates, mix designs, and method statements.
• Interpret complex structural drawings, resolve RFIs with design consultants, and coordinate with MEP and architectural field engineers.
• Champion safety on‑site, focusing on formwork stability, work at height, and crane operations, ensuring adherence to Kenyan building codes and international standards (ACI, AISC).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an internationally recognised university.
• 8–12 years of post‑graduate, site‑based experience on large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven track record on high‑rise buildings of 20 + storeys.
