Student Recruitment Officer (Parklands)

About the role

The Student Recruitment Officer will represent Mount Kenya University in outreach activities, engaging prospective students, parents, and partners to promote the university’s programmes. This full‑time position is based in the Parklands area and focuses on driving enrollment through targeted marketing and coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Visit potential clients, groups and individuals to promote university outreach activities.
• Develop, coordinate and deliver outreach programmes and marketing strategies, including arranging campus tours for prospective students and parents.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal coordination of student recruitment and enrollment processes.
• Create and distribute promotional materials, informational packages and resource kits.
• Prepare reports, proposals and analyses on recruitment and retention trends.
• Design mentorship programmes and monitor recruitment performance.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the department head.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication or a related field (or a Higher National Diploma with relevant experience).
• Minimum three years of experience in a comparable recruitment or marketing role, or five years if holding a diploma.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
