Supply Chain & Logistics Assistant

About the role

The Supply Chain & Logistics Assistant supports the delivery of supply chain and logistics functions for Trócaire’s Somalia programme, reporting to the Country Director and dotted‑line to the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager. The role involves regular travel to field locations and provides essential logistical support to programme teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement plans with Project Managers, consolidate them into a master plan and ensure alignment with timelines, budgets and donor compliance.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs and RFTs, manage supplier pre‑qualification, maintain the supplier register and draft purchase orders.
• Draft, monitor and close contracts for goods, works, services and lease agreements, tracking performance, milestones and renewals.
• Conduct market surveys, quality checks and performance evaluations of suppliers to ensure value for money and compliance.
• Support logistics policy implementation, monitor transport service contracts, and conduct field visits to audit compliance and stock management.
• Manage office supplies, construction compliance, and lease agreements for equipment and facilities.
