System Administrator

About the role

OS Labs Limited is looking for a skilled System Administrator with 3-4 years of hands-on experience in managing IT infrastructure, administering systems, maintaining network security and providing end-user technical support. The role ensures the reliability, security and optimal performance of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows servers and Active Directory, manage user accounts, groups, permissions and Group Policy, and perform updates, backups and recovery
• Manage Microsoft 365 accounts, licenses, mailboxes and Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, and implement security settings
• Configure and monitor FortiGate firewalls, including policies, VPNs and access controls, and investigate security threats
• Maintain switches, routers and wireless access points, and manage VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS and routing
• Provide end-user support for desktops, laptops and printers, and maintain IT asset and support records
• Implement security policies, monitor for vulnerabilities, ensure patching, antivirus and backups, and support security audits and incident response

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• 3-4 years of experience in system administration and IT infrastructure management
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and FortiGate firewalls
• Experience in end-user computing support and IT asset management

Required skills

• Networking, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good documentation, time management and communication skills

Certifications such as Microsoft Windows Server or 365, Fortinet NSE/FCP or Cisco networking, and experience with virtualization, endpoint management and monitoring tools are an added advantage. Candidates apply by submitting an updated CV.
