Tax Accountant (Uganda)

About the role

The company is seeking a Tax Accountant to manage taxation and accounting activities focused on Ugandan tax requirements. You will ensure accurate financial records, timely statutory compliance and support the finance team with tax reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax computations and statutory returns.
• Support VAT, withholding tax, PAYE and other applicable tax compliance.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and perform financial reconciliations.
• Monitor tax obligations, payments and filing deadlines.
• Assist with tax audits, queries and provide supporting documentation.
• Identify tax compliance gaps and support corrective actions.
• Prepare relevant financial and tax reports for management.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting/taxation experience.
• Strong understanding of Ugandan taxation and statutory compliance.
• Good analytical, reconciliation and reporting abilities.
• High attention to detail and professional integrity.
