Technical Expert – Adolescent Health & Nutrition Innovation

About the role

The ALIGN project seeks a Technical Expert to support the scaling of adolescent health and nutrition innovations across up to 12 African countries. This 14‑month consultancy will work hybrid/online, reporting to the ALIGN Project Manager at The Youth Café.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Technical Support Packages, including baseline capacity assessments and tailored technical assistance for CSOs and YLOs.
• Provide mentorship in programme design, grant management, and policy dialogue facilitation.
• Establish and manage a Cross‑Country Community of Practice to connect innovators with technical experts and policymakers.
• Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of sub‑grants to scale proven health and nutrition interventions.
• Document and disseminate lessons learned on scaling and health‑system integration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in adolescent health, nutrition, or related public‑health sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to build capacity of civil‑society and youth‑led organisations.
• Familiarity with national health‑system structures and policy processes in African contexts.
• Strong analytical skills for monitoring, evaluation, and evidence‑based advocacy.
