Technical Operator – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Operator to join our manufacturing team at Tropical Heat Ltd in Nairobi. The role involves operating and maintaining machinery used in spice and snack production, ensuring efficient and high‑quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control machinery involved in spice processing, keeping equipment running smoothly and efficiently.
• Set up machines, perform adjustments, and calibrate equipment according to product specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor the production process, ensuring machinery operates within specified parameters and make adjustments as needed.
• Conduct regular quality checks on spices during production to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Train new and existing operators on efficient machine operation to minimise downtime and waste.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to reduce production interruptions.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to maintain machine reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of machine operations, production output, and quality checks, and report to the supervisor.
• Collaborate closely with production supervisors, quality control personnel, and maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in mechanical, production/process or manufacturing engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience working as a Technical Operator, preferably in FMCG.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other operators, technicians, and production staff.
