Technical Sales Engineer – Water Pumping Systems

About the role

Join an engineering‑led supplier in Nairobi as a Technical Sales Engineer, promoting pumping systems and engineered solutions to agricultural, industrial and infrastructure clients. The position requires a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and offers a full‑time, on‑site role.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities for pumps, control panels and related engineering services.
• Meet clients, consultants and contractors to understand project requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
• Prepare accurate quotations, proposals and product recommendations for a range of pump types.
• Coordinate with engineering and workshop teams to confirm specifications, lead times and feasibility.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date sales pipeline in the ERP/CRM system and follow up actively on quotations.
• Provide after‑sales support, handle client complaints and assist with debt‑collection follow‑up.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Water, Agricultural or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Previous experience in technical sales, pump sales or related electromechanical equipment.
• Proven ability to interpret customer requirements and propose commercially viable solutions.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail in specifications and pricing.
• Professional, proactive and team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• ERP/CRM usage (preferably Odoo)
• Microsoft Office suite
• Technical knowledge of pump and control system terminology (head, flow, cavitation, star‑delta starters, etc.)
• Preparation of technical quotations and proposals
