Origination Coordinator – Commodity Trading

About the role

Cargill Ag and Trading in Kenya originates and sells grains and oilseeds across East Africa. The Origination Coordinator manages a moderately complex supplier base, handling purchases and sales of commodities to meet production requirements, timing, volume, and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with transportation, logistics, quality assurance, finance and customer teams to ensure efficient execution of transactions.
• Plan purchases and transportation to maximize profitable use of stock and storage facilities.
• Research and analyse freight opportunities to maximize margin.
• Work directly with customers, suppliers and business counterparts to resolve routine problems and address complaints.
• Enter routine data and generate specialty reports from contract management databases.
• Process sales and purchase contracts and amendments in the ERP system, validating impact and consequences.
• Support merchandising through alignment on inter‑company sales and purchase books.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
• Valid and clean Kenyan driving licence with flexibility to work outside an assigned workstation in Eldoret and travel within East Africa.
