Telephone System Installer / Technician

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Telephone System Installer / Technician to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will install, test, and maintain telephone infrastructure to ensure reliable communications for critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain telephone systems, cables, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair telephone lines, equipment, and connectivity issues.
• Conduct system testing, diagnose faults, and verify performance against specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent failures.
• Plan and install cabling, routing it securely to exchange equipment and terminal outlets.
• Update and maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and inventory.
• Respond to service requests, coordinate with other contractors, and provide user training as needed.
• Ensure compliance with industry, military, and safety standards.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience with telephone system installation and maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in telecommunications or IT are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
