Entry Level Network QA Engineer – Cell Phone Field Testing

About the role

We are looking for an entry‑level Network QA Engineer to support LTE and 5G field testing of mobile handsets. The role combines hands‑on vehicle‑based testing with office analysis to ensure user equipment meets carrier and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute test plans for 3G, 4G, LTE, 5G NR and related air‑interface protocols in live networks.
• Perform SIM OTA activation testing and validate UE functionality on 4G/5G call processing.
• Collect and post‑process UE logs using tools such as QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark and ShannonDM.
• Analyze KPI trends, troubleshoot issues from field sites, and provide optimization recommendations.
• Document findings, assess risk items, and support product performance evaluations.
• Travel up to 25% of the time and spend roughly 80% of work time in the field.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 0‑3 years of exposure to LTE, 4G/5G networks and field testing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Understanding of end‑to‑end LTE and 5G network architecture.
• Knowledge of 3G, 4G, LTE, 5G NR, 5G NSA and SAP concepts.
• Experience with UE log analysis tools: QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, ShannonDM.
• Familiarity with OTA signaling, IMS, VoLTE, VoWiFi, ViLTE, RCS and SIM OTA activation.
