Temporary Grants and Contracts Officer

About the role

PATH, a global nonprofit advancing health innovations, is hiring a Temporary Grants and Contracts Officer for its Nairobi Country Program Office. The Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) mitigates organizational risk through expertise on funder and donor compliance, federal regulations, donor terms and conditions, subaward management and PATH policies. This temporary position provides surge capacity for award review and processing, including work on PATH Agreement modernization (PAM), TSP/REA and the PHFFA Framework. The contract duration is 3 months.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the timely review and accurate processing of new awards and amendments to existing awards.
• Participate in contract administration so that sufficient contract terms and conditions are met.
• Provide guidance to Project Administrators (PADMs) and OGC staff on the terms and conditions of active awards, including any restrictions.
• Document award terms and restrictions on the award record in Salesforce.
• Review prime award terms and donor requirements to identify, draft and incorporate flow-down provisions into outgoing agreements, coordinating with Legal and other departments.
• Act as primary liaison with Project Administrators on awards about to close out and on active awards without an award.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in donor-funded contracts and grants management within an international not-for-profit organization.
• Knowledge of USG contracts and grants management requirements.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with program and other staff.

Required skills

• Experience working with Salesforce is an added advantage.
