Temporary Teacher – Year 5

About the role

Blakeview Primary School is seeking a temporary Year 5 teacher to join its team from May to December 2026. The successful candidate will work in a supportive environment, delivering curriculum and fostering a safe, inclusive classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver sequential lesson plans aligned with the Year 5 curriculum.
• Implement trauma‑informed practices and the Zones of Regulation framework to support student wellbeing.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff to maintain a cohesive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience in primary education, preferably with Year 5 classes.
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma‑informed approaches and Zones of Regulation.
• Ability to design and execute lesson sequences for varied learner needs.
• Willingness to provide two current referees who can attest to classroom experience.
• Flexibility for part‑time or flexible arrangements if required.
