Trade Analyst – Trade Finance Operations

About the role

The Trade Analyst will support the bank’s trade finance operations, ensuring accurate processing of documentary collections, letters of credit, guarantees and trade loans. Working within a collaborative team, the analyst will apply established SOPs to deliver high‑quality service to internal and external customers across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Vet, process and verify trade products (documentary collections, letters of credit, guarantees, trade loans) both manually and electronically according to the delegated matrix.
• Examine import and export documents following ICC guidelines and upload examinations via the OCR platform.
• Perform sanctions screening and AML checks in line with policy.
• Log customer instructions in TMW, ensure proper authorisation and signature verification.
• Reconcile liability accounts daily and ensure accurate income collection.
• Generate and act on daily reports (FCC, FCR, QlikView, Jasper, SWIFT, NOSTRO, etc.).
• Manage query and complaint resolution within SLA timelines.
• Support UAT testing and handle adverse incidents until resolution.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of trade finance products and international trade documentation.
• Ability to follow SOPs, maintain dual‑control procedures and ensure compliance with sanctions and AML regulations.
• Effective communication skills for internal coordination and customer interaction.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OCR platforms for document examination.
• Experience using QlikView for reporting.
• Familiarity with Jasper reporting tools.
• Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and related processing.
• Experience with UAT testing procedures.
