About the role

The Trade Development Representative will support Safaricom’s sales effectiveness across multiple product lines, including airtime, M‑PESA, Fixed Wireless Access and Fibre‑to‑the‑Home. You will work closely with Territory Business Leads and channel partners to achieve monthly and annual sales targets while ensuring product availability at outlets.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in meeting area sales targets for airtime usage, product sales and subscriber acquisition.
  • Monitor and promote the availability of Safaricom products such as M‑PESA float, devices and other channel offerings.
  • Onboard new outlets, including non‑traditional channels, and ensure they meet daily call and sales execution scores.
  • Submit route coverage reports and share market intelligence to support sales programs.
  • Deploy merchandising standards, POS availability and branding compliance at assigned outlets.
  • Attend daily, weekly and monthly sales review meetings and support marketing activities and promotions.

Required profile

  • 1‑2 years of experience in sales and distribution, preferably in FMCG, telecom or related industries.
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Swahili.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct.
  • Ability to communicate in the local language of the operating area.
