Trainer & Facilitator for AfCFTA Implementation & Value Chains

About the role

We are seeking an expert Trainer and Facilitator based in Nairobi to design and deliver an executive training programme on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The programme targets trade practitioners, private‑sector executives, customs professionals and policy makers, moving from high‑level theory to practical, compliant cross‑border trade.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver modular training sessions covering the AfCFTA operational framework, Rules of Origin, Regional Value Chains and Non‑Tariff Barriers.
• Guide participants through hands‑on case studies such as origin calculations, HS classification mapping and end‑to‑end shipment tracing.
• Bridge theory and application by clarifying legal agreements, compliance procedures and real commercial outcomes.
• Facilitate dynamic discussions on institutional bottlenecks, supply‑chain sourcing decisions, the Guided Trade Initiative and digital trade systems.

Required profile

• Deep, practical knowledge of the AfCFTA agreement, WCO Rules of Origin, trade facilitation and customs procedures.
• Minimum 5 + years experience in trade policy, customs administration, export‑import business, trade law or economic‑development consulting.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering engaging professional training programmes or executive education modules.
• Based in Nairobi, Kenya (or locally available for in‑person delivery).
• Excellent communication and cross‑cultural facilitation abilities to translate complex legal and technical frameworks into actionable business strategies.
