Transit Transport Operations Clerk – Northern Corridor

About the role

The Transit Transport Operations Clerk will act as the operational link between shipping lines, trucking companies, customs agents and border authorities. Based in Mombasa, you will ensure that goods move efficiently along the Northern Corridor to Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and the DRC, keeping client supply chains reliable and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and sequence daily truck dispatches from Mombasa to Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and the DRC, matching available capacity to cargo volumes and delivery deadlines.
• Coordinate with transporters, customs agents and internal teams to guarantee trucks are loaded, cleared and released without avoidable delays at ports and inland depots.
• Monitor cargo movements, track exceptions and resolve issues that arise during cross‑border freight handling.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, dispatches and clearance documentation.
• Communicate status updates to clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency throughout the transit process.

Required profile

• Diploma (or equivalent) in logistics, transport, supply chain or a related field.
• Relevant experience in transport or logistics operations, preferably with cross‑border freight.
• Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
